Fidelity Select Trading System
This is our system that trades Fidelity Select funds. We hold 2 mutual fund positions from the Fidelity Select family of sector mutual funds. We hold these funds for a minimum of 31 days go avoid the Fidelity early redemption fees. At times the system will go to cash ( a money market fund), and those positions will not necessarily be held for 31 days.

If a buy for SPRXX is indicated, just simply stay in FDRXX or SPLXX, it is just another money market fund.

If a fund symbol is in that column then the action to be taken is to sell the current mutual fund in the left column tomorrow and to buy the fund in the Next Trade column. If the fund indicated is FDRXX or FSLXX then simply switch to a money market fund.
The system holds 2 positions at a time, each of which is approximately 50% of the total invested. The mutual fund held for each position is indicated by the number in the leftmost Pos column, 1 for the first, 2 for the second.
What if I miss a Fidelity Select Fund System Trade?
Occasionally you will miss a trade. If that happens, don’t panic. The best thing to do is simply go ahead and sell the mutual fund that was sold in the trade you missed, and put that money in your money market fund (e.g FSLXX). Then simply wait for the next trade and buy that mutual fund.
If you were only a day late and you wanted to go ahead and buy that fund anyhow, that may work out OK, but the majority of the time these sector funds are only held 31 days, so there’s a good chance you will pay the Fidelity Select Fund 0.75% penalty if you buy the fund after the trade date to stay in sync with the system.
