This is our system that trades Exchange Traded funds. We hold 2 ETF positions from a list of about 50 ETFs that are chosen so we don’t have much duplication. We hold these funds for about 30 days, since this system trades using the same ranking approach as our Fidelity Select system. At times the system will go to cash ( a money market fund FDRXX), and those positions will not necessarily be held for 31 days.

This ETF trading system has been followed in real time since August 2009.

If a trade is called for it is indicated in the Next Trade column -^-

If a fund symbol is in that column then the action to be taken is to sell the current mutual fund in the left column tomorrow and to buy the fund in the Next Trade column. If the fund indicated is FDRXX then simply switch to a money market fund.

The system holds 2 positions at a time, each of which is approximately 50% of the total invested. The mutual fund held for each position is indicated by the number in the leftmost Pos column, 1 for the first, 2 for the second.

What if I miss a Exchange Traded Fund System Trade?

Occasionally you will miss a trade. If that happens, don’t panic. Since there are no penalties trading ETF’s if you only missed it a day or so then you are probably OK making the trade. If not then sell the old holding and go to cash for that position until the next signal.
